Regular care helps keep an AGV in good operating condition. Use the following checklist alongside the maintenance instructions for the actual vehicle.
1. Leaks
Visually inspect hydraulic connections, the battery area and braking system for leakage. Never use your hands to locate a hydraulic leak. Take leaking equipment out of service and have trained maintenance personnel follow the vehicle procedure.
2. Load backrest and forks
Check for cracks, distortion and loose fasteners. Confirm that fork positioning pins are locked.
3. Front and rear wheels
Look for cracks, damage, abnormal wear and material wrapped around wheels. Check wheel nuts and bearings.
4. Electromagnetic brake
Verify correct brake operation using the specified functional check.
5. Hydraulic oil
Check the oil level using the vehicle condition and method specified in its manual. Use manufacturer-approved fluid when topping up is required.
6. Lithium battery
Confirm that the retaining pins secure the battery box and inspect electrical connections.
7. Safety sensors
Clean safety laser scanners as specified and check fork-tip photoelectric sensors, collision protection and safety edges.
8. Controls and emergency stop
Check the operating interface, switches, instruments and red emergency-stop button.
9. Mast chains
Have appropriately trained personnel check chain tension using the manufacturer’s procedure. Keep hands out of the mast and do not press on chains by hand.
10. Horn
Operate the horn button and check the warning sound.
11. Vehicle control and positioning
Verify dependable control, route tracking and localisation using the prescribed test procedure.
12. Other abnormalities
Investigate unusual noises and other changes in operation.
Before electrical-system inspection, switch off and isolate the battery as instructed by the manufacturer, except when a specified functional test requires power. Do not operate a faulty vehicle; maintenance and testing must be carried out by appropriately trained personnel.
